Ryan Leads Falcons to 27-21 Win over the Broncos

Peyton Manning looked shakier in the Bronco’s game with the Falcons on Monday night than he did in Denver’s week 1 win over Pittsburgh.  It looks like it is going to take the superstar a bit of time to get back in the groove after missing all of last season with 4 neck surgeries.

Manning was intercepted 3 times in the first 8 minutes of the game and allowed Atlanta to get a big lead which they were able to hold onto over the course of the game.  He settled down pretty much after the 3 picks but the Broncos weren’t able to pull out the win.  We had to expect this and I don’t think it is reason for much concern from Denver fans.

Willis McGahee was a bright spot for the Broncos rushing for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns.  You take away the picks in this game and Denver actually played evenly or maybe better than the Falcons.  After building a 20-0 Atlanta had to hold on for the win.

Matt Ryan had a solid game as he threw his 100th touchdown pass.  He was 24 of 36 for 219 yards and 2 TD’s in total.

This was a good win for Atlanta over a tough Denver team.  The outcome might have been different had it not been for the interceptions but that is football.  Denver is going to be ok as Peyton knows how to make adjustments and correct his mistakes.  The team should only get better as the year goes on and I’m predicting we will see the dangerous old Peyton after he gets his bearings.  Atlanta looks like the class of the NFC South but it is still very early.  I’m still up in the air on just how good they are until I see them play a couple of the top teams in the NFC.
