Premier League: Manchester United vs. Liverpool Preview

February 8, 2012 by agent

This Saturday Manchester United will host Liverpool at Old Trafford. BetOnline has Manchester United at -115, Liverpool at +310 and a draw at +230. The total for this game is set at 2½.

These two teams played to a 1-1 draw in their last Premier League meeting. Liverpool is placed seventh in the standings with 39 points. They're coming off a 0-0 draw against Tottenham Hotspur last Monday and they knocked Manchester United out of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win at Anfield on January 28.

Luis Suarez returned from an eight-game ban by the FA last Monday against Tottenham Hotspur and he is one of the keys to this game for Liverpool.

Manchester United comes into this game off a thrilling 3-3 draw against Chelsea last Sunday. United fought back from a three-goal deficit in the second half. Wayne Rooney converted two successful penalty kicks and Javier Hernandez scored the game-tying goal. Rooney has scored just two goals in 19 career appearances against Liverpool but we can expect him to continue with his strong play and contribute someway.

Manchester United is finally healthy, Rooney, Nani, Ashley Young and Tom Cleverley are all back and playing at Old Trafford will help them tremendously against Liverpool's stingy defense. Liverpool is still fighting for a top-four finish and they will not lie down either. I'm taking the under, this game will end in a draw or a 1-0 Manchester United win.
