#3 Oregon is an 8-point road favorite against Arizona State

Oregon visits Arizona State on Thursday night as both team try to improve to 4-0 in conference play. According to the oddsmakers at BetJambo, Oregon is an 8-point favorite and the total is set at 69.    

Oregon has won the last seven games in this series but Arizona State has covered in the last two meetings, losing by just 11 and 14 points. Oregon has scored at least 42 points in every game this season but they also have 2+ giveaways in their last five games. Arizona State is 6-0 ATS this season and they have allowed just 41 points during their current three-game winning streak.

Arizona State has outscored opponents 145 to 27 in three home games this season but Oregon has won 10 straight road games in Pac-12 play, averaging 42.2 points per game in that span.  

The Oregon offense ranks among the best in the nation and they have had extra time to prepare for this game after a bye week. Oregon ranks second in the nation with 52.3 points per game. The Ducks are fourth with 302.3 rushing yards per game and eighth with 541.6 total yards per game.

Arizona State relies on a ground game that features talented running backs Cameron Marshall, Marion Grice and D.J. Foster and on the efficiency of sophomore quarterback Taylor Kelly, who has thrown 11 touchdowns with no interceptions in three conference games.

Defensively, Arizona State ranks second in the nation in both tackles for losses at 9.83 per game and sacks at 4.33 per game. Arizona State has to be careful with Oregon's running game. Oregon running back Kenjon Barner ran for 171 yards on 31 carries against them last year.

Oregon is 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight games following a win of more than 20 points and 2-5 ATS in their last seven Thursday games. Arizona State on the other hand is 13-6-3 ATS in their last 22 conference games and 13-6-1 ATS in their last 20 home games.

These two teams score a lot of points and don't allow many. This game could easily come down to which defense can make a big stop late in the game. Arizona State will not win this game but they will keep it close and make a statement on national television. Arizona State +8 is the play here.
