NFL Preview and 5 Star Picks

Last week we went 3-1 with our 4 and 5 star picks as we gave you Carolina +7 as our pick of the week. This week looks even better on the betting front. We are starting out the week 1-0 as earlier this week we gave you the Rams +1 over Arizona

5 star Picks-*****

Giants-8.5 over Browns. It’s not like us to give you a large favorite as our pick of the week, but in this case, it’s the best play of the week. We realize that at times the Giant struggle as a big favorite at home, but they have learned their lesson from last year and the opening game against the Cowboys. The Giants have a very tough schedule this year and cannot afford to fool around in this game. They will be very focused and play a solid game against a Cleveland team that is not only inferior but banged up. In 2009, they used to dominate inferior teams at home and Eli and the Giants always play well in October, Giants win this one comfortably

4 star Picks-****

Broncos+6.5 over Patriots. Tom Brady usually gets the best of Peyton Manning, but it won’t happen this week. The Broncos are playing too well, The Defense always plays well and now it seems that Manning is getting comfortable with Offense. This Bronco Team actually has more talent than some of those Indy teams that Peyton used to hold together with “rubber bands”. This will be a shootout with both teams having the lead in the second half. In the end it will come down to a late field goal or touchdown. Take Denver and the 6.5

Saints -3.5 over Chargers. The Saints are very angry for a number of reasons, the biggest being that they’ re 0-4 and could’ve won each of those games. This will be the week that the Saints turn back into the Saints and start to play a solid football game.San Diego has been playing well also but is in a tough spot here. If Philip River throws a few INTS this will get ugly quickly. Take the home team and lay the 3.5

Jags +5 over Bears. The Bears just played a near perfect game on National TV on Monday Night and now have to play on the road again. They will not be quite as prepared for this game this week. The Jaguars are as young team that is very hot and cold. This week they bring their “A “game against a Bear team that will be slightly overconfident. Bet the home dog here.

3 star Picks-***

Redskins +3 over Falcons. The Falcons are due for a fall; you saw what happened to the Cardinals last night. Washington has played very well this year and is very close to Atlanta in terms of talent. Atlanta has been winning games with mirrors; this is the week the mirror breaks. Bet the Skins +3 here.

Steeles-3.5 over Eagles. Philly is 3-1 and coming off of a huge division win on National TV. Pittsburgh had the week off to get healthy and get ready for this game. They will do what the Steelers do, play well on both sides of the ball and methodically break down the Eagles. Lay the 3.5 with the home team.

Chiefs+6 over Ravens. The reason we like KC over here is the 6 point home dog theory. Whenever you look at a game and your first reaction is that one team is very superior to the other but is playing on the road and you see a 6 point spread, it’s time to bet the home dog. The Stupid money is on Baltimore, the shard money will be on Kansas City.

49ers -9.5 over Bills. October is the months when many of the favorites cover as some of the lesser teams start to lose confidence and interest. It happens every year, and then in mid November the Dogs bark back as the winning teams start to take weeks off and the lesser teams try hard for one week. This is October San Fran showed last week in New York that they mean business. Lay the 9.5

2 star picks-**

Colts+7 over Packers. We really wanted to rate this game a little higher as Indy really is a juicy home dog here, but anything is possible when you have the best Qb in the league going against a rookie. We like the Colts here, but maybe a late pick lets Green Bay cover

Benglas-3.5 over Dolphins. This one is a tough call; both of these teams have been playing well. The difference here is that Cincy has shown the ability to take early leads and then extend those leads. 3.5 is a lot of points but the Bengals should cover that.

Texans -8 over Jets. We hope we are not getting stupid in our old age, but we are basing this pick on recent form. Houston has played near perfect football this year and Jets have looked like one of the worst teams in the league. Normally an 8 point dog on MNF has our name on it, but not here. Houston wins by more than 8.

1 star picks-*

Titans +5.5 over Vikings. We are reading the line here. Both of these teams are about the same talent wise, we are taking the points in what will be close game

Panther-3 over Seahawks. This one is too close to call. Both teams need this game badly. We are making the safe call and going over 43.5
