NFL Picks of the Week
We’ve got two picks we feel very strongly about in week 3 of the NFL. We are starting to get a better read on teams and are looking to really laser in and get stronger from here on out. I’m not saying bet the farm on these. Personally I’ve got 2 units on each. Bet these games at America’s Bookie where you can get lines and odds on all your NFL action.
Atlanta Falcons (2-0) +3 @ San Diego Chargers (2-0) -3
I am definitely not ready to jump on the San Diego Chargers’ bandwagon but I have to give them some respect after what I have seen in the first 2 games. They are looking vastly improved on defense early on. They are looking good against the pass which has been a real problem for them in the past. They haven’t faced the likes of Matt Ryan yet so we will see if this trend continues. Ryan Matthews will be back in action this week which should open things up for Philip Rivers. Rivers will also have Antonio Gates back from a rib injury. Look for the public to be on the Falcons in this one but I’m taking San Diego -3. Atlanta just finished with a big Monday night game on the East Coast and is now heading to the West Coast. They only got 5 days of rest this week plus the coast to coast trip. The last team to cover in this same situation was the Giants in 1998. Be the smart money this week.
Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1) -5 @ Oakland Raiders (0-2) +5
Sometimes a game is just a game and the team that should win does. While I don’t generally like giving up points like this on the road I really don’t see the Raiders coming close. I’m not saying it will be a blowout but I don’t think the Raiders can keep it within 5. This is a little bit riskier bet because all indications seem to point to the Steelers and normally I don’t like that. Still no word if Polamalu and Harrison will play on Sunday but their backups played very well last week against the Jets. We might see Rashard Mendenhall this week but if not no worries. Nothing seems to be working for the Raiders. Even Darren McFadden hasn’t played well so far. He had a pitiful 22 yards on 11 carries last week. I would like Oakland’s chances much better if the Steelers were 2-0. That might mean a letdown against a weaker team. But the Steelers won’t take any chances at going 1-2. They will beat the Raiders by a TD or better.
Good luck with your bets this week and keep up with all the football action at NFL Scores and Odds.
