Boston Celtics vs. Philadelphia 76ers 7:00 PM ET Preview

The Sixers got a split in Boston and head back to Philly tonight 1-1 in the series.  The Sixers are 3-0 at home in the playoffs so far and are surprising everyone so far.  It doesn’t help the Celtics that both Pierce and Allen are hobbling around on the court, but I am not ready to count them out.  Boston is going to get back in the groove tonight.  Take them as the road dog in this one +2.

New Jersey Devils at New York Rangers Preview

The Rangers are up 1-0 on the Devils after a 3-0 win in Game 1.  New York has won the 1^st game of each of their series, but not the 2^nd.  It would be huge for the Rangers to jump out to a 2-0 lead.  I don’t think it is going to happen against a team that dominated Philadelphia like New Jersey did.  Take the Devils +115 to even things up.

With the 2012 NFL Draft in the books, it's now time to look at the wide receivers that were selected in the draft early on and see who potentially could make a serious splash in the upcoming season.  Obviously one of the most hyped players in the entire draft was Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon, who went on to be selected with the 5th pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars.  While the Jags don't instantly become betting favorites to win their division this year, the addition of Blackmon fills a HUGE void that the team had last season, and finally gives young quarterback Blaine Gabbert a strong target to throw to.  He'll have a good season, but Gabbert needs to be more accurate in order for Blackmon to excel.

The PGA comes to us from Irving, Texas this week for the HP Byron Nelson Championship.  It will be played on the TPC Four Seasons – Las Colinas course.

Phil Mickelson is the favorite in the tournament at +900.  Matt Kuchar and Adam Scott are close behind at +1000.  Phil is having a pretty decent season, though nothing sticks out to me to make him the favorite here.  Other than the fact that he has the potential to come out and get a win on any course if he is hitting the ball well.  He has finished in the top 10 in 4 of his last 8 tournaments.

Jimmie Johnson finally won his first race of the 2012 season and he was in contention or leading for almost the entire race. 

Johnson had to hold off Tony Stewart at the end of the race for the win.  Smoke ended up in 3^rd place while Denny Hamlin took 2^nd.  The win pushed JJ up 3 spots to #5 in the Sprint Cup Series point standings.  Greg Biffle remains in 1^st with Matt Kenseth just 2 points back.

Johnson paid off at +600.  Watch out now that he has won his first one on the season.  He is capable of going on a tear and winning the Series again.

Freshmen have played a big part on the last 2 National Championship teams.  The Kentucky Wildcats had 3 freshmen starting this past season, while Connecticut had 2 freshmen that were key the year before.  With players heading to the NBA earlier these days, this is probably a trend that will continue.  Therefore, we thought we would take a look at some freshmen that could play a key role next season.

Some of these players are not necessarily the top ranked freshmen, rather players that will fit in immediately with their teams.  Kentucky has another interesting freshman in center Nerlens Noel.  They will need to add a little meat to his bones as he is fairly thin.  He has great defensive skills, but will need a little more work on offense.  The W...

It seems that the Arkansas Razorbacks can't seem to stay out of the news recently.  A team that finished the 2011 season in 5th place in the rankings and finished off the season with a nice 29-16 bowl win against the Kansas State Wildcats has had a tough offseason.  The Razorbacks were 11-2 last season, but when the season came to a close was when things really went sideways.  Head coach Bobby Petrino was caught in the midst of a major scandal and was left without a job soon after that.  Things haven't turned around just yet though, as it was recently reported that three players on the team were arrested this weekend for burglarizing dorm rooms ...

Bayern Munich will host Chelsea in the 2012 UEFA Champions League Final. These two teams are coming off big upsets in the semifinal round with Chelsea eliminating FC Barcelona (3-2 aggregate) and Bayern Munich ousting Real Madrid (3-3 aggregate, 3-1 penalty kicks), with both games taking place on the road in Spain.

Chelsea heads into this game needing a win to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season while Bayern Munich will enjoy the luxury of playing at home, as they try to exorcise some of the demons for not winning the Bundesliga title.

The Strikeforce Heavyweight Tournament has been narrowed down to two fighters as former UFC Heavyweight champion Josh Barnett takes on former Olympic wrestler Daniel Cormier. The main card will also feature Strikeforce Lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez defending his title against long-time rival Josh Thomson.

Also on the card, former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight champion Rafael Cavalcante takes on Mike Kyle. The main card opens with Nah-Shon Burrell squaring off with Chris Spang in a welterweight battle of prospects.

The event will take place at the HP Pavilion in San Jose with the main card airing live on Showtime beginning at 10:00 PM ET.
