NFC South Report

The Falcons are still undefeated after a 30-28 win over Carolina that they had no business winning. Carolina played great the whole game but after getting the ball on the one inch line with 45 seconds left, Matt Ryan threw the ball 60 yards downfield to Roddy White who caught it in double coverage.   Then they kicked a field goal to win it.  Huge loss for Carolina who drops to 1-3.  The Falcons have been there before and the Panthers have not.  It takes time to learn how to win games and although the young Panthers have talent, the Falcons have experience on their side. People have been criticizing Cam Newton’s body language on the field and saying that he only cares about himself.  That may be a little harsh but it does seem like he has a little”Lebron James” in him.  The Saints lost another game that they could’ve won 28-27 to the Packers last week.  They came into Green Bay with a good game plan and were leading in the 4th quarter till a late Aaron Rogers TD put the Pack in front.  The Saints are now 0-4 but could easily be 4-0.  It shows you how much they miss the genius of Sean Peyton.  Tampa bay lost to another NFC East team and dropped to 1-3.  That’s 3 straight weeks that they were in games but lost.  Last week’s loss was to the Redskins at home 24-22.  They did show some fight however after being down 21-6 at the half.

This week the Falcons are trying to stay undefeated by going into Washington as a 3 point favorite.  They won’t be undefeated however on Sunday night.  The Skins are playing very well, they are at home and the Falcons are coming off a big win and have just about won the division after 4 weeks. Bet the home dog here.  The Saints are hosting the Chargers on Sunday Night Football.  I sure wouldn’t want to be the Chargers this week as the Saints will be very angry and go back to form and crush them.  Lay the 3.5.  Carolina is hosting Seattle as a 3 point favorite.  This one is a tough call and will be close.  The safe play is taking over 43.5 here.  Tampa Bay is off this week as they get ready to host the Chiefs in 2 weeks.
