NBA Playoffs Round 1 Previews for 4/28

Here you can find the odds and previews for all the NBA games of the day:

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Chicago Bulls 1:00 PM ET Preview

I always like to be cautious with betting Game 1’s of the first round.  The teams are feeling each other out and there are always surprises.  Philadelphia is generally a pretty weak team but the Bulls have not played well towards the end of the season.  The key for Chicago’s success will be for Rose to be healthy and productive.  I think the Bulls are aware of poor performances at the end of the season and will come out strong to prove something.  It is a lot of points but take Chicago -9 in game 1.

New York Knicks vs. Miami Heat 3:30 PM ET Preview

I am really anxious to see the Heat begin the playoffs.  Have they been sandbagging everyone with the poor play over the past few weeks?  Or have they been exposed as having no depth and it all rides on the shoulders of the “big 3”?  I am sure Miami will bring their game once the postseason starts.  It is going to be important to have a healthy D Wade.  LeBron alone won’t be enough.  Carmelo Anthony had to have been the MVP of April.  He took the whole team on his back practically.  Too many points in this one.  Take the Knicks +8 ½ to cover in game 1.

Orlando Magic vs. Indiana Pacers 7:00 PM ET Preview

The Magic have fallen apart over the last month and will be without Howard during the playoffs.  Orlando is going nowhere in this postseason.  They won’t just lay down though.  Another high point spread.  Look for Indiana to win but take Orlando +9 to cover.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Oklahoma City Thunder 9:30 PM ET Preview

The defending champs just don’t have enough weapons to pull a repeat this year.  But OKC cannot take them lightly.  The Mavs have a lot of heart and a great leader in Dirk Nowitzki.  The Thunder are not quite as fearsome as they were earlier in the season, but look for them to go to another level for the playoffs.  I really don’t see anyone stopping them but the Spurs.  Dallas will be ready for game 1 so take the Mavericks +7 ½ as the play.
