NASCAR Odds to Win the Richmond 400

Racing will return to Saturday night for this week’s running of the Richmond 400.  The race comes to you from Richmond International Speedway in Richmond, Virginia.

Kyle Busch won last year’s race and is the favorite to win this year at +500.  Right behind him is last week’s winner, Denny Hamlin, at +600 and Jimmie Johnson at +700.

A win would be a big boost for Busch, who has struggled so far this year.  With only one top 5 this year he is sitting in the 13th spot in the point standings.  Busch races well on this track and has an average finish of 5.0.

Denny Hamlin is having a good season and deserves to be a favorite in this race.  He should probably be a favorite in most races this season.  So far he has 2 wins and three top 5’s.  He has also won on the Richmond track 2 times in his career.

As we keep asking every week, will this be the week for Jimmie Johnson?  He is #7 in the point standings and has four top 5’s on the year.  He has won 3 times on the track yet only has an average finish of 17.2.

There are a few drivers that I have my eye on for this week.  And even though they have longer odds I think they have just as good of a chance of taking this race as the favorites.  Martin Truex Jr. is at +3000.  He has three top 5 finishes this season and came in 2nd last Sunday after leading for the large majority of the race.  I kind of like Greg Biffle at +1500.  After all, he is the point leader and that should be good for something.  Dale Earnhardt Jr. at +2000 might have some value.  I keep saying it every week, but he will break out of that winless slump eventually.

Odds to win the Richmond 400:

Kyle Busch +500

Denny Hamlin +600

Jimmie Johnson +700

Carl Edwards +800

Jeff Gordon +800

Kevin Harvick +900

Tony Stewart +1000

Kasey Kahne +1200

Brad Keselowski +1200

Greg Biffle +1500

Matt Kenseth +1500

Dale Earnhardt Jr +2000

Clint Bowyer +2500

Mark Martin +3000

Ryan Newman +3000

Martin Truex Jr +3000
