By Knup There are many things to consider before you place a futures bet on the NFL Super Bowl, and one of them is how crazy the NFL season really can be. Injuries seem to pop up all over the place, and many times it comes down to watching a team just get hot at the right time. Take the Baltimore Ravens for example from last season. Almost no one really expected the Ravens to be serious contenders at about the halfway mark of the season, but they turned it around, got hot, and went on to win the 2013 Super Bowl. Now, the new ...

By Knup I talked recently about the quarterback controversy and battle that was going to be held by the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Irish lost Everett Golson as they decided to dismiss him from the team and the school, something that was talked about more than just a little bit in the sports news recently. While Golson is out, it means that the Fighting Irish need to find an answer at the quarterback position. What did this mean exact...
By Edward23 A Yankee legend returns to the Bronx when manager Don Mattingly and the Dodgers begin a brief two-game set with the Yankees. Mattingly played his entire 14-year career with the Yankees and was on New York's coaching staff before leaving for Los Angeles six years ago. According to the oddsmakers at America's Bookie, the Dodgers are at -101, the Yankees are at -109 and the total is set at 8. The Yankees had a much-needed day off Monday after posting a 4-6 mark on a tough West Coast road trip. ...

By AK We are down to only a few more nights before one team is hailed a dethroner or one team becomes a defender. As we get closer to the season’s magnum opus, let’s take a step back and put the two contending teams face-to-face for a little nitpicking. The athletic versus the fundamental play While the defending champs Miami Heat aren’t exactly the youngest team in the league, their style of play fits a team with fresher legs and younger knees. With high flyers like reigning MVP LeBron James and the former 2006 Finals MVP Dwyane Wade, plus Ray Allen’s impec...
By Scott The 2013 U.S. Open will be hosted at the Merion Golf Club for the first time since 1981. The par 70 (6996 Yards) course is the shortest course for a PGA major since 2004. There has been a lot of rain this week on the course and the course will be soft, which will make it easier on the golfers. Playing at Merion should be interesting because only 11 players have played competitive rounds on the course. Most players will have never played a competitive round at Merion in the past. This week putting is going to be the biggest factor, but I also think that scrambling will play a ro...

By Knup A 27-8 record last season was no joke, and neither was the fact that the Arizona Wildcats were a strong team, and a serious major contender as well. The Wildcats had talent across their roster last season, they ended the year ranked 21st in the nation, and they obviously made it to the NCAA Tournament. They had a tough loss to the 7th ranked Ohio State Buckeyes in the thir...
By Edward23 We are less than a year away from the 2014 FIFA World Cup and things are still moving along slowly in CONCACAF, as every team has played every other team atleast once and there are two more games to be played tonight, which are the rematches between the US and Honduras and Costa Rica and Panama. Honduras at United States 9:00 PM ET Tuesday, June 18 (ESPN at 8:30 PM ET, UniMás at 8:00 PM ET) After wins over Jamaica and Panama, the United States caps off a three-game stretch of World Cup qualifiers with one last big test. By Scott The UFC is back in Canada this weekend. UFC 161 will be held at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. There are two Facebook prelim fights starting at 6pm and four more prelim fights on FX starting at 8pm. The main card starts on PPV at 10pm. The card doesn’t look that great for a pay-per-view card, but we do have two great fights to end the night. In the main event we have Dan Henderson vs. Rashad Evans and then in the co-main event we have Roy Nelson vs. Stipe Miocic. Bet on this weekend's UFC action at America's Bookie.

By Edward23 Chicago Blackhawks vs. Boston Bruins After putting in more than the traditional 60 minutes in each of the first two contests of the Stanley Cup Final, the Bruins will look to seize an edge in the series, when they return home for Game 3 against the Blackhawks. Boston rebounded after suffering a hard-luck 4-3 loss in triple-overtime in Game 1 as Daniel Paille netted the winner in the extra session for a 2-1 triumph on Saturday. Tuukka Rask weathered a furious first-period storm and finished with 33 saves in the victory. According to the oddsmakers at

Montpellier restores lead at top of Ligue 1
Souleymane Camara put the visitors in front midway through the first half and
the lead was doubled shortly after the break by an own goal from goalkeeper
Benoit Costil of Rennes.
The loss is the second straight for Rennes after a four-game winning streak,
but the club still remains in fifth place, while Montpellier is three points
clear of second-place PSG with two games to go.
Rennes came within inches of taking the lead when a scissors kick from
Jonathan Pitroipa struck the crossbar, only for Camara to put Montpellier in
front after a poor clearance from Rennes defender John Boye.
The visitors took control of the match in the 52nd minute when Remy Cabella’s
25-yard effort came back off the post and struck Costil in the back,
redirecting the ball over the line.
Rennes continued to press the action with Pitroipa threatening on numerous
occasions, but Montpellier goalkeeper Geoffrey Jourdren was up to the task.

spot after Eden Hazard was brought down inside the area by goalkeeper Alexis
A Hazard corner kick 10 minutes later led to Lille’s second goal as De Melo
got up to head the ball home.
The win was then secured on the hour mark when Dimitri Payet tracked down a
long ball from Hazard and curled a shot past Thebaux.
Caen offered little in attack and sits three points above the drop zone with
two games to go while Lille can still retain its title but is five points back
of leaders Montpellier.
Bordeaux 4, Auxerre 2
Auxerre, France – Bordeaux secured its fourth straight win on Monday as Yoan
Gouffran scored twice in the opening five minutes of a 4-2 win over Auxerre,
which drops the home side to the bottom of Ligue 1.
The win moves Bordeaux into seventh place while Auxerre sits on the bottom of
the league but is only two points from safety with two matches remaining.
The visitors put the game away early as Ludovic Sane scored in the ninth
minute after Gouffran’s double, putting Bordeaux up 3-0 inside of 10 minutes.
Jaroslav Plasil further extended the advantage early in the second half before
two goals from Olivier Kapo reduced the deficit.
Lorient 0, Dijon 0
Lorient, France – Dijon snapped a five-game losing streak on Monday with a 0-0
draw against Lorient, but remains in 19th place and one point from safety with
Lorient stays four points above the drop zone after collecting a point in
Monday’s game despite failing to register a shot on target.
Dijon had the better of the chances but Lorient goalkeeper Jeremie Janot made
sure his team got something from the match as he saved a free kick from Eric
Bautheac in the first half before stopping Bennard Kumordzi in the final 10
St Etienne 0, Marseille 0

0-0 home draw with Marseille on Monday.
The result leaves St Etienne level with Rennes in fifth place for the final

St Etienne’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the most dangerous man for either
team as he struck the crossbar midway through the first half before firing
narrowly wide in the game’s final minutes.
Marseille remains comfortably in the middle of the league, out of European
contention but safe from the relegation scrap.
Sochaux 1, Nancy 0
Sochaux, France – Sochaux’s survival hopes got a major boost on Monday as
Sebastien Roudet scored five minutes from time to hand the home side a 1-0 win
over Nancy that lifts them off the bottom of the league.
Sochaux had lost its last three games to slip to the bottom, but the win
allows the club to jump out of the bottom three after a loss from Auxerre and
a draw by Dijon on Monday.
Nancy’s winless streak has now reached five games but the club has still
managed to secure its safety with a seven-point lead on the bottom three and
just two games to play.
The difference in the match came in the 85th minute when a poor pass from
Nancy’s Bakaye Traore allowed Roudet to get into the penalty area and lob a
shot over the head of goalkeeper Guy N’Dy.
Toulouse 0, Nice 0
Toulouse, France – Nice edged one point further from the drop zone on Monday
with a 0-0 away draw against Toulouse.
Both sides came close to opening the scoring in the first half as Nice saw
Kafoumba Coulibaly strike the post with a shot from the edge of the penalty
But Toulouse began to slowly get into the game and was unfortunate to see a
well-struck shot from Adrien Regattin rattle the crossbar.
