Montero’s slam leads D-Backs over A’s

Jason Kubel went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored while Paul Goldschmidt
extended his career-high hitting streak to 16 games with an RBI single in the
eighth for the Diamondbacks, who have won four straight and six of seven.

Trevor Cahill (4-5) gave up just two runs on seven hits with three walks and
seven strikeouts over 7 1/3 innings to win his second straight start.

Cliff Pennington went 3-for-4 with a run scored while Jemile Weeks, Jonny
Gomes and Kurt Suzuki each drove in a run for the Athletics, who have lost
three of their last five games. Jarrod Parker (2-3) was tagged for six runs on
eight hits with five walks and four strikeouts over just five innings.
