Monday Night Football: Falcons host Peyton Manning and new-look Broncos

Week 2 of Monday Night Football features the Atlanta Falcons hosting the Denver Broncos in a potential Super Bowl preview. These two teams were impressive in Week 1, with the Broncos beating the Steelers and the Falcons dominating the Chiefs.

This will be Peyton Manning's first road start with the Broncos. Last week he utilized a no-huddle offense to come back and beat the Steelers at home while the Falcons jumped all over the Chiefs in Kansas City with an aggressive downfield passing attack.

Quarterback Matt Ryan threw for 299 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions with a 136.4 passer rating but the Falcons did have some issues, as they allowed 152 rushing yards to the Chiefs and lost top cornerback Brent Grimes to a season-ending injury.

Manning was also stellar last week, completing 19 of 26 passes for 253 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions and he is 7-1 with 2,351 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and four interceptions against NFC South opponents.

The oddsmakers at BetJambo favor the Falcons by 3 points and the total is set at 51½. The Falcons are 26-6 straight up at home over the last four seasons and 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games after accumulating less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game. The Broncos on the other hand are 6-13 straight up in their last 19 road games and 6-16 ATS in their last 22 road games against a team with a winning home record.

The Atlanta offense has too many weapons, their new-look pass happy attack seems nearly unstoppable and it's hard to bet against a team that has had so much success at home. Look for the Falcons to win and cover.
