MMA Betting – UFC on Fox 3 Odds & Picks
UFC on Fox 3 is this weekend and will take place at the IZOD Center in New Jersey. The entire fight card is going to be broadcasted for free live on Fox and the card is stacked. UFC wants to use their Fox TV contract to attract new fans to the sport and that’s why they’ve been making sure the cards are solid.
UFC on Fox 3 Odds & Predictions
• Jim Miller -220 vs. Nate Diaz +180
Jim Miller (21-3) will be taking on one of my favourite fighters Nate Diaz (15-7) in the main event. Nate Diaz is a very solid fighter and I think he can use his reach to disrupt Miller. Diaz can’t let this fight get taken to the ground often because Miller can impose his wrestling and that’s trouble. I rarely bet against Diaz and I’m going to back him at UFC on Fox 3 as a nice +180 underdog.
• Johny Hendricks -120 vs. Josh Koscheck +100
Josh Koscheck (17-5) is a small underdog against Johny Hendricks (12-1). Hendricks has won his last three fights including his last fight against Fitch. Hendricks has looked great and Koscheck should be a great fight for him. Koscheck has looked pretty good lately as well and has won his last 2 fights. I like Hendricks as a small favourite although I’m waiting until closer to this weekend for a better line.
• Rousimar Palhares -280 vs. Alan Belcher +240
Rousimar Palhares (14-3) is a submission expert while Alan Belcher (17-6) is well-rounded. Both fighters are riding 3-fight win streaks, but I think Palhares is the better fighter. Palhares is incredible on the ground and if he can take Belcher to the ground I think this fight will be over quickly. Belcher can stay in the fight if it’s kept standing up, but Palhares has shown the ability to takedown most fighters with ease, so I’ll take him at -280 on some of my parlays this weekend.
• Pat Barry -210 vs. Lavar Johnson +175
Pat Berry (7-4) is a pretty big favourite over Lavar Johnson (17-5). I can’t wait to watch this fight, as it should be one of the most exciting on the main card. Both fighters are known for their knockout power and I’d be surprised if this fight doesn’t end in a TKO/KO. Considering this fight will pit two strikers against each other it could go either way in my opinion and I’ll be betting on the underdog Johnson at +175.
The main card only has four fights, but the fights are all solid in my opinion. Miller vs. Diaz should be the FOTN, as both of these guys are fighting for the #1 contender spot. I can’t see the fight ending quickly and both fighters should get plenty of shots in. Palhares will most likely be the favourite for the SOTN award and the KOTN award will most likely end up going to the winner of the Barry vs. Johnson fight.
