Michael Floyd vs. Justin Blackmon vs. Kendall Wright; Who Has the Immediate Impact?

With the 2012 NFL Draft in the books, it's now time to look at the wide receivers that were selected in the draft early on and see who potentially could make a serious splash in the upcoming season.  Obviously one of the most hyped players in the entire draft was Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon, who went on to be selected with the 5th pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars.  While the Jags don't instantly become betting favorites to win their division this year, the addition of Blackmon fills a HUGE void that the team had last season, and finally gives young quarterback Blaine Gabbert a strong target to throw to.  He'll have a good season, but Gabbert needs to be more accurate in order for Blackmon to excel.

Michael Floyd is probably one of the more interesting prospects in the draft.  He has a ton of talent, but no one had much to say about him with Blackmon expected to go in front of him.  With that being said, no one was actually really sure where Floyd would end up going, and at the end of the day he ended up in a great spot with the Arizona Cardinals paired with Larry Fitzgerald.  He was the 13th overall pick, and getting to learn from Fitzgerald will be huge for the rookie from Notre Dame.  Floyd will have an impact, but with Fitzgerald there it's really tough to tell what type of impact he will end up having at the end of the year.

Last but not least is Kendall Wright.  No one really said much about Wright, but he may very well be in a great spot to have an excellent year.  While he was drafted 20th by the Tennessee Titans who are definitely still in a rebuilding mode, he has a young quarterback in Jake Locker, and will be next to another youngster in Kenny Britt, and a solid veteran in Nate Washington.  Wright may only be 5'10, but he put up an incredible 1,663 yards and 14 touchdowns last season with Robert Griffin III showing that he is prepared to do some work in the NFL.

In my opinion, I'd have to lean towards Floyd.  I think that Floyd is incredibly underrated, and while he may not be as talented as Blackmon is, I think that he's going to get a ton of open chances to catch the ball because of the attention that Fitzgerald will get on the other side of the field.  Blackmon is going to have the defense locked all over him constantly, and Wright will start out as the third receiver to begin the season.
