Kobe Bryant Making Moves; NBA All-Star Lineups Set

February 8, 2012 by bettor

Kobe Bryant Moves to 5th All-Time On Scoring List

Kobe Bryant is one of those players that NBA fans either love, or they hate.  You'll find that more often than not there isn't much of a middle ground, but no matter what you think about Bryant, you have to admit that he is officially one of the best players to play the game.  To go with his five NBA Championship rings, he has now moved past his old teammate, Shaquille O'Neal for 5th place on the all time scoring list.  Bryant has been playing for 16 season to this point, but you can bet that he's not close to done yet, especially with the level that he's playing at currently.

What makes this feat even more incredible for the Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard, is the fact that he expected to be at this point in his career from the minute that he entered the league.  There was never a question of "if" to Kobe, but it was instead "when".  While he is now fifth on the all-time scoring list, Kobe is more focused on getting that sixth championship ring to put him in that next level of player, where very few stand.  The comparisons to Michael Jordan will always be there, but Kobe is out to prove that he's the best to ever play the game.

For now, and probably forever, when you think of Los Angeles Lakers basketball, you'll probably associate the name Kobe Bryant with it in almost every way possible.

NBA All-Star Starting Lineups Set

The 2012 All-Star lineups are set and ready to roll, and you can bet that there is a ton of fire power in them.  With lineups that feature names this big, it'll be interesting to see what the line on the All-Star game is over at America's Bookie.  Overall, you'll find well-known names like Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, Kobe Bryant, Derrick Rose, Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, Kevin Durant, and Carmelo Anthony all mixed in the starting lineups for their respective sides.

The East is going to have James, Wade, Howard, Rose, and Anthony, and there weren't really any surprises there.  The Western conference on the other hand featured Bryant, Paul, and Durant, but also had the likes of Blake Griffin, and a surprising starter at center in Bryants' teammate Andrew Bynum.  Both of these two players will be making their first All-Star starts of their careers, and we can expect to see them quite a bit more often as the years roll on.  Overall, Howard was the leading vote getter with 1.6 million votes.  One other important thing to note about Bryant (who seems to be featured all over the place here), is that this is a record tying 14th All-Star game selection for the veteran.
