Kevin Love Believes in the T’Wolves, Should We?

The Minnesota Timberwolves may not have made it to the postseason last year, but they were consistently one of the more talked about teams in the NBA it seemed.  While the T'Wolves aren't betting favorites to win the NBA Championship just yet, they are definitely heading in the direction with a young core of players that includes Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio, and Nikola Pekovic.  While the fans are believing in their team, their star, Love, is also believing in his team as well.  The Timberwolves lost Rubio to an injury that ended his season last year and essentially pushed them out of playoff contention, but this year it's expected that they will be a playoff team.

Love made it known that the T'Wolves needed to make some big changes and to add some players in order for this team to seriously compete, and after winning a gold medal he came back to Minnesota with a smile on his face.  He, just like the fans and front office, love what their team has done in this offseason in big acquisitions.  They started by signing quite a few players, including Brandon Roy, Andrei Kirilenko, Greg Stiemsma, Louis Amundson, Dante Cunningham, and Alexey Shved from Russia.  If Roy can remain healthy after his knee surgeries, this team could be scary.

They also got rid of a few players that you probably know well, including Michael Beasley, Dark Milicic, and Anthony Randolph.  Love and some of the other players on the team felt that some of the players simply didn't take games as seriously as they should have, so big moves had to be made.  Love is obviously the most important part of this team, as he averaged 26 points and 13.3 rebounds per game last season, and proved to be one of the best players in the NBA.  He also signed an extension that was worth $60 million over four years.

The Timberwolves are a team to believe in, and are a team that we should be excited about for the future also.  I'd personally love to see this Timberwolves team make it to the postseason, and get matched up against some of the top teams in the NBA on the biggest stage of all.  Everyone loves a young, talented, and motivated team, and we've seen in the past that they have the potential to make some noise as well.  I also think that Ricky Rubio has the potential to be one of the most talented guards in the NBA, and that he could turn into an All-Star very soon.
