Davis Cup Semifinals

The Davis Cup Semifinals got underway on Friday and the USA is in big trouble in Spain having lost the opening two singles matches. Sam Querrey was beaten by David Ferrer in 4 sets and John Isner came close but no cigar losing to Nicolas Almagro 7-5 in the 5th.

In the other Semifinal Argentina and The Czech Republic are tied at 1 match each, as Juan Monaco lost to Tomas Berdych in 5 sets and Juan Martin Del Potro beat Radek Stepanek in straight sets.

The USA is in big trouble because even if the Bryan brothers win the doubles tomorrow, it is highly unlikely that, they can win both reverse singles on Sunday.

In the other tie in will come down to who wins the doubles point on Saturday, although both Berdych and Del Potro and Stepanek and Monaco have the ability to win their matches on Sunday.

The winners will play each other in the Final in early December.
