Daily NBA Previews for 11/2
Indiana Pacers (1-0) vs. Charlotte Bobcats (0-0) 7:00 PM ET Scores and Odds
Denver Nuggets (0-1) vs. Orlando Magic (0-0) 7:00 PM ET Scores and Odds
Houston Rockets (1-0) vs. Atlanta Hawks (0-0) 7:30 PM ET Scores and Odds
Atlanta is favored by 6 and the total is set at 202 ½. I guess James Harden wanted to show the Houston fans that he was worth the big contract as he went off for 37 points and 12 assists in Houston’s opening win over Detroit. Newbie Jeremy Lin began his second tour of duty with the Rocket with 12 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Gone for the Hawks are Joe Johnson and Marvin Williams this year. The Hawks have made some good moves but this will still be sort of a rebuilding year. It is very early but I like the makeup of this Houston squad but think they are probably still a year or two away from being a major force. I like their chances tonight at least to take it close. Take the Rockets +6 on the road.
Chicago Bulls (1-0) vs. Cleveland Cavaliers (1-0) 7:30 PM ET Scores and Odds
Chicago is favored by 3 points and the total is 184. Both teams got off to 1-0 starts winning their openers. The Bulls beat the Kings as Joakim Noah had 23 points and 19 boards, Richard Hamilton had 19 points and Carlos Boozer had 18. Defensively they held the Kings to 41% shooting and forced 18 turnovers. This team was tough on D last year and there is nothing indicating they won’t be again this year. Kyrie Irving came out big to start his sophomore season, scoring 29 points in the Cavs win over Washington on Wednesday. Anderson Varejao came back from last year’s broken wrist to set career highs with 23 rebounds and nine assists. My lean on this game is towards the Bulls. But my play is under 184.
