Alex Semin and Shane Doan Looking for Teams

The 2012 NHL's free agency has officially been rolling along, and there are quite a few players left out there that many people are curious about where they'll end up.  Two of the players that are up in the air right now are Alex Semin and Shane Doan.  Over the past week or two things have slowed down quite a bit, to the point where this past week's offer sheet that was signed for Shea Weber lit up the news just a bit in the NHL.  While many players have signed though, we are really curious to talk about where Semin and Doan are going to end up playing.

Many people were shocked that Semin hadn't signed a deal yet, but many people are curious about the perception that surrounds him.  Semin was ripped by Marc Crawford and Pierre McGuire, but while many teams have remained skeptical, Carolina Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford seems to be interested in Semin.  He's cautious while doing so, but he also has stated that he doesn't want to sign anything long term because of allof the "stories about him."  The Hurricanes have added some strong players and are looking to get back into the list of Stanley Cup contenders for the Eastern Conference.

Semin is currently 28 years old, so he's looking for that long term deal.  He's scored 408 total points throughout 469 games, but many GM's feel that his demands are too long and too high for their team.

As far as Shane Doan goes, he was one of the most popular players out there, and he's getting interest from the bulk of the NHL teams out there.  Doan is looking at the options, but there's definitely a chance that he could potentially end up back with the Phoenix Coyotes.  Doan talked with the New York Rangers when he was in NYC, and he's also going to meet with the Philadelphia Flyers today as well.  Doan is currently 35 years old, so he's definitely on the back end of his career currently.  According to his agent Terry Bross, there have been six offers sent in so far for the player to head there.

We are definitely curious to see if the Coyotes end up signing Doan at the end of the day, no one is really sure what is going to happen with Phoenix's ownership.  We'll keep you updated on the situation with these two well known players, but these are definitely two of the most interesting players left in the 2012 NHL free agency.
